BEFORE YOU BUY

By purchasing a ticket or merchandise, registering for the event, entering the venue, or participating in an event activity, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL.
01 Agreement to These Terms +

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all registrations, ticket purchases, merchandise purchases, attendance, participation, and related transactions connected with The Decades Dance Social, presented by Shine Dance Academy (“Shine Dance Academy,” “Shine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By purchasing a ticket, registering for the event, purchasing merchandise, entering the venue, participating in any class, contest, game, dance, or activity, or otherwise attending the event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

If you purchase tickets or merchandise on behalf of another person, you are responsible for informing that person of these Terms.

02 Event Information +

The Decades Dance Social is an all-ages dance social presented by Shine Dance Academy and scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2026 at Esta Noche Dance Studios in San Antonio, Texas.

The planned schedule includes doors opening at approximately 6:00 PM, a beginner dance class at approximately 6:30 PM, and social dancing from approximately 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM.

Event times, instructors, DJs, contests, activities, prizes, programming, room assignments, and schedules may be reasonably modified when necessary.

03 Ticket Sales Are Final +
ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL.

Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise by Shine Dance Academy, tickets are non-refundable.

A purchaser who becomes unable to attend is not entitled to a refund because of illness, transportation problems, scheduling conflicts, work obligations, personal emergencies, failure to arrive, changes in personal plans, or other circumstances affecting the purchaser.

Failure to attend does not create a credit toward a future Shine Dance Academy event.

04 Ticket Transfers +

Tickets may be transferred to another guest unless otherwise stated for a particular ticket type.

The original purchaser is responsible for providing the new attendee with all relevant event information and these Terms.

Shine Dance Academy may require reasonable notice or updated attendee information before a transfer is recognized.

Unauthorized commercial resale, fraudulent resale, or resale intended to profit from Shine Dance Academy tickets may result in cancellation without refund.

05 Ticket Pricing & Promotions +

Ticket pricing may vary depending on purchase date, availability, promotional periods, or ticket tier.

Early Bird pricing may be limited by quantity and is available only while the designated ticket allotment remains available.

Shine Dance Academy is not required to retroactively apply a promotion, discount, coupon, or reduced price after a transaction has been completed.

Door admission may cost more than advance admission and is subject to venue capacity.

06 Capacity & Door Admission +

Venue capacity is limited.

Admission at the door is not guaranteed and may be discontinued once capacity is reached.

Arrival at the venue without a valid advance ticket does not guarantee admission.

07 Ticket Confirmation & Check-In +

Guests may be required to present an electronic ticket, QR code, confirmation email, confirmation text, order number, purchaser name, or other registration information at check-in.

Each ticket is valid only for the number of admissions purchased.

Ticket credentials, QR codes, and check-in information may not be duplicated or distributed to unauthorized persons.

If the same ticket or QR code is presented multiple times, the first successfully verified admission may be treated as the valid use of that ticket.

08 All Ages & Minors +

The event is intended to be all ages unless otherwise announced.

Minors must attend with and remain under the supervision of a responsible adult.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for the conduct, supervision, transportation, safety, and behavior of minors in their care.

Shine Dance Academy staff, volunteers, instructors, photographers, DJs, vendors, and venue personnel are not childcare providers.

Children may not run through active dance areas, enter restricted areas, interfere with instruction, or create unsafe conditions.

09 Beginner Class & Partner Rotation +

The beginner class is designed to provide a welcoming social dance experience.

Partner rotation may be used and may be required as part of the instructional format.

Participation in the class is voluntary. Guests who choose not to participate in the instructional format may observe or wait until social dancing begins.

Outside of structured instructional activities, no attendee is required to socially dance with a particular individual.

10 Assumption of Risk +

Dancing and physical activity involve inherent risks including slips, trips, falls, collisions, muscle strain, joint injury, fatigue, dehydration, accidental contact with other participants, and other injuries associated with physical movement.

By voluntarily participating, attendees acknowledge and accept the ordinary risks associated with dancing and physical activity.

Guests are responsible for determining whether they are physically able to participate.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive a legal right that cannot lawfully be waived.

11 Safe Dancing +

Attendees must maintain reasonable awareness of surrounding dancers and participate responsibly.

Unsafe lifts, aerials, throws, acrobatics, tricks, reckless movement, or behavior creating an unreasonable risk to another attendee may be prohibited.

Event staff may instruct an attendee to discontinue an activity considered unsafe.

Failure to comply may result in removal from an activity or from the event without refund.

12 Guest Conduct +

Harassment, fighting, intimidation, threats, stalking, discriminatory harassment, deliberate unwanted touching, property damage, aggressive behavior, or conduct threatening the safety or comfort of another guest will not be tolerated.

Shine Dance Academy may warn or remove a guest whose behavior is disruptive, dangerous, abusive, inappropriate, or inconsistent with the event environment.

Serious misconduct may result in immediate removal without a prior warning.

Guests removed because of their conduct are not entitled to a refund.

13 Venue Rules +

All attendees must follow applicable rules established by Shine Dance Academy and Esta Noche Dance Studios.

Guests must comply with occupancy requirements, restricted-area rules, security procedures, emergency instructions, and reasonable directions from event or venue personnel.

Violation of venue rules may result in removal without refund.

14 Personal Property +

Guests are responsible for their own personal property.

Shine Dance Academy is not responsible for lost, misplaced, forgotten, stolen, or damaged phones, purses, wallets, jewelry, clothing, costumes, merchandise, keys, vehicles, or other personal belongings except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

15 Photography & Video +

The Decades Dance Social is a public-facing event where photography and video recording may occur.

Shine Dance Academy, authorized photographers, videographers, contractors, staff members, partners, or media representatives may capture event photography, crowd footage, dance footage, contest footage, interviews, and related content.

By attending, guests acknowledge that they may incidentally appear in photography or video captured during the event.

Event media may be used for event documentation, websites, social media, advertising, promotional material, event recaps, and future event promotion, subject to applicable law.

Parents or guardians with concerns regarding identifiable promotional use involving a minor should contact Shine Dance Academy or speak with event staff.

16 Guest Photography +

Reasonable personal photography and personal video recording are generally permitted unless otherwise announced.

Guests may not obstruct professional photographers, videographers, instructors, contestants, emergency pathways, event staff, or the active dance floor.

Commercial productions, professional filming, or commercial livestreaming may require prior approval.

17 Contests, Games & Cash Prizes +

The event may include Soul Train activities, Jack & Jill competitions, Musical Chairs, costume contests, dance games, and other competitions.

Participation is voluntary.

Contest rules may be announced before or during an activity and participants are responsible for following those rules.

Winners may be selected by judges, staff, audience voting, scoring, elimination format, or another announced method.

Judging decisions are final unless Shine Dance Academy determines that an administrative or scoring error occurred.

Unsafe behavior may result in immediate disqualification.

Prize recipients are responsible for any applicable tax or reporting obligations.

18 Costumes +

Costumes are strongly encouraged but are not required.

Regular clothing is welcome.

Costumes must remain appropriate for an all-ages environment and may not create unreasonable safety hazards.

Shine Dance Academy may prohibit or require modification of costumes involving sharp objects, dangerous materials, obstructed vision, excessive trailing fabric, realistic weapons, threatening imagery, or other elements that create a safety concern.

✦
IMPORTANT T-SHIRTS & MERCHANDISE
✦
19 Event Merchandise +

Official Decades Dance Social merchandise may be sold before, during, or after the event.

Merchandise is a separate purchase from event admission unless a specific ticket package expressly states otherwise.

PURCHASING A TICKET DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE A T-SHIRT.

Purchasing merchandise does not automatically include admission to the event.

20 T-Shirt Preorders +

Certain Decades Dance Social T-shirts are sold as preorders.

A preorder means the merchandise may be produced after the order is placed and may not be immediately available.

Merchandise designated for event pickup is expected to be available at event check-in on November 28, 2026, unless otherwise stated.

Supplier delays, production delays, printing delays, shipping delays affecting Shine Dance Academy, or circumstances outside Shine Dance Academy’s reasonable control may affect availability.

A merchandise delay does not create a right to refund an event ticket.

21 Selecting the Correct Shirt Size +
THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SELECTING THE CORRECT SIZE.

Customers should carefully review their selected size before completing checkout.

Because preorder merchandise may be produced according to submitted sizes, Shine Dance Academy does not guarantee that another size will be available at the event.

If a customer orders the wrong size, Shine Dance Academy is not required to provide an exchange.

Shine Dance Academy may voluntarily accommodate an exchange when appropriate inventory is available, but such an exchange is a courtesy and is not guaranteed.

22 Size & Fit Variations +

Garment sizing and fit may vary between manufacturers, garment styles, production batches, fabrics, and cuts.

Size labels are provided by the garment manufacturer.

Customers should review available sizing information before ordering.

A shirt fitting differently from another shirt or brand owned by the customer does not by itself constitute a manufacturing defect.

23 Colors, Mockups & Product Images +

Website photographs, social media images, digital mockups, and product previews are intended to provide a reasonable representation of merchandise.

Actual product colors may vary because of phone displays, monitor settings, garment dyes, lighting, printing processes, material differences, and manufacturing conditions.

Print placement, design scale, saturation, texture, or positioning may vary slightly from digital mockups.

Reasonable production variation does not constitute a defect.

24 Garment Substitutions +

If a particular shirt brand, garment model, fabric, or color becomes unavailable, Shine Dance Academy may substitute a reasonably comparable garment when necessary to fulfill an order.

Reasonable efforts will be made to preserve the intended quality, color family, fit category, and overall appearance.

25 Limited Merchandise Availability +

Merchandise designs, sizes, colors, and styles may be limited.

Display of an item online does not guarantee indefinite availability.

Shine Dance Academy may discontinue a design, color, style, or size at any time.

26 Merchandise Sales Are Final +
EVENT MERCHANDISE SALES ARE GENERALLY FINAL.

Refunds or exchanges are not guaranteed for:

  • Incorrect size selected by the customer
  • Change of mind
  • Failure to attend the event
  • Failure to pick up merchandise
  • Preference for another design or color
  • Ordinary fit differences
  • Minor color variations
  • Normal production differences

This policy does not limit remedies that may be required under applicable law.

27 Defective or Incorrect Merchandise +

If Shine Dance Academy provides an item that materially differs from the confirmed order or contains a substantial manufacturing or printing defect, the customer should notify Shine Dance Academy as soon as reasonably possible.

Shine Dance Academy may request photographs or return of the item before providing a remedy.

Depending on inventory and circumstances, Shine Dance Academy may replace the item, correct the order, provide an equivalent item, or offer another appropriate remedy.

Damage caused after pickup, improper washing, excessive heat, bleaching, stains, stretching, alterations, accidental damage, or misuse is not considered a manufacturing defect.

28 Garment Care +

Customers are responsible for properly caring for purchased merchandise.

Customers should follow the care instructions provided with or attached to the garment.

Shine Dance Academy is not responsible for damage caused by improper washing, drying, ironing, bleaching, excessive heat, alterations, or failure to follow garment care instructions.

29 Event Merchandise Pickup +

Merchandise designated for event pickup should be collected from the designated merchandise or check-in area.

The purchaser may be required to provide their name, email address, order number, confirmation, or other reasonable proof of purchase.

Once merchandise is released to the verified purchaser or their authorized representative, Shine Dance Academy is not responsible for subsequent loss or damage.

30 Authorized Merchandise Pickup +

A purchaser may authorize another person to collect merchandise when Shine Dance Academy permits it.

Shine Dance Academy may require the authorized person to provide the purchaser’s name, order number, confirmation, or other verification.

Shine Dance Academy may refuse to release an order when staff cannot reasonably verify authorization.

31 Unclaimed Merchandise +
EVENT PICKUP DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY BECOME FREE SHIPPING.

Customers are responsible for remembering to collect merchandise designated for event pickup.

Failure to attend the event does not automatically convert an event-pickup order into a shipped order.

Unclaimed event merchandise will be held for up to 30 days following the event.

After the holding period expires, Shine Dance Academy may donate, dispose of, reuse, or otherwise handle unclaimed merchandise and will have no continuing obligation to store the item.

If shipping is requested after a missed pickup, the purchaser may be responsible for shipping, packaging, handling, and associated fees.

32 Merchandise Order Changes +

Requests to change a T-shirt size, color, design, quantity, or other merchandise selection are not guaranteed.

Once an order has entered production, modification or cancellation may no longer be possible.

Shine Dance Academy may establish a production cutoff date after which changes cannot be accepted.

33 Merchandise Intellectual Property +

Decades Dance Social logos, artwork, graphics, merchandise designs, promotional materials, branding, photography, and original creative content may be protected by intellectual-property laws.

Purchasing merchandise gives the customer ownership of the physical product purchased.

It does not grant permission to reproduce, manufacture, copy, digitally extract, commercially distribute, print, or sell unauthorized merchandise using Shine Dance Academy or Decades Dance Social artwork.

✦
EVENT PARTNERS FOOD & THIRD-PARTY PURCHASES
✦
34 Esta Pizza & Third-Party Purchases +

Shine Dance Academy may promote special offers, discounts, preorder opportunities, or other arrangements involving Esta Pizza or other third-party businesses.

Unless checkout specifically states otherwise, a transaction made directly with a third-party business is between the customer and that business.

The third party’s ordering, preparation, refund, allergy, pickup, fulfillment, and payment policies may apply separately.

Customers with allergies or dietary restrictions should communicate directly with the applicable food provider.

35 Outside Food & Drink +

Outside food and beverages may be restricted by event or venue policy.

Guests must follow posted or announced food and beverage rules.

The proximity of a neighboring restaurant does not automatically authorize food to be brought inside the dance venue.

36 Wristbands & Re-Entry +

If wristbands, stamps, tickets, or other re-entry credentials are issued, attendees are responsible for keeping them.

Removal, alteration, duplication, transfer, or misuse of a credential may result in denied re-entry.

Lost credentials may not be replaceable.

✦
EVENT OPERATIONS CHANGES, PAYMENTS & COMMUNICATION
✦
37 Event Changes +

Shine Dance Academy may reasonably modify event programming, activities, contest schedules, instructors, DJs, games, prizes, event layout, room assignments, or other operational details.

Reasonable modifications do not automatically constitute event cancellation or create a refund right.

38 Cancellation or Rescheduling +

If the entire event is canceled by Shine Dance Academy, Shine Dance Academy will determine the appropriate remedy consistent with applicable law and the circumstances of cancellation.

If the event is rescheduled, existing tickets may be honored for the new event date.

Material changes will be communicated through reasonable available communication channels.

39 Circumstances Outside Our Control +

Shine Dance Academy is not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances reasonably outside its control, including severe weather, natural disasters, venue emergencies, utility failures, governmental restrictions, public emergencies, transportation interruptions, or similar extraordinary events.

Shine Dance Academy may postpone, relocate, modify, or cancel portions of the event when reasonably necessary.

40 Event Communications +

Ticket purchasers may receive transactional communications relating to their order and attendance.

These communications may include purchase confirmations, event reminders, schedule information, location information, check-in instructions, merchandise pickup reminders, event changes, and post-event follow-up.

Marketing communications will be handled according to applicable consent requirements.

41 Accurate Contact Information +

Purchasers are responsible for providing accurate email addresses, phone numbers, names, and other requested registration information.

Shine Dance Academy is not responsible for communications missed because of inaccurate information, blocked text messages, spam filters, carrier filtering, disabled notifications, or similar circumstances outside Shine Dance Academy’s reasonable control.

Guests should check the official event website for current event information.

42 Website Information & Errors +

Shine Dance Academy makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate event and merchandise information.

Typographical errors, technical errors, temporary website issues, outdated information, or unintended pricing errors may occur.

Shine Dance Academy may correct errors when discovered to the extent permitted by law.

43 Technical Issues +

Shine Dance Academy is not responsible for failures caused by a purchaser’s internet connection, device, email provider, browser, cellular provider, payment method, or other third-party technology.

If a customer believes payment was processed but confirmation was not received, the customer should contact Shine Dance Academy before repeatedly submitting additional purchases.

44 Payment Authorization +

By submitting payment, the purchaser represents that they are authorized to use the payment method provided.

Fraudulent transactions, unauthorized payment activity, or fraudulent disputes may result in cancellation of tickets, merchandise orders, or future purchase privileges.

45 Chargebacks & Payment Disputes +

Customers are encouraged to contact Shine Dance Academy first if they believe a legitimate billing or fulfillment error occurred.

Nothing in these Terms limits a customer’s legitimate legal right to dispute an unauthorized transaction.

Knowingly submitting a false or fraudulent payment dispute may result in cancellation of related tickets, merchandise orders, or future service eligibility.

46 Declined or Reversed Payments +

An order is not considered fully paid until payment has successfully cleared.

Shine Dance Academy may cancel tickets or merchandise associated with a payment that is declined, reversed, canceled, or otherwise not successfully collected.

✦
SAFETY ENTRY, SECURITY & RESPONSIBILITY
✦
47 Right to Refuse Entry or Remove Guests +

Shine Dance Academy and venue management reserve the right, consistent with applicable law, to deny admission or remove a guest whose conduct creates a safety concern, violates these Terms, violates venue rules, interferes with event operations, or materially disrupts other attendees.

Removal because of misconduct does not entitle the guest to a refund.

48 Security & Emergencies +

Event personnel may implement reasonable security and safety procedures.

Guests must cooperate with emergency instructions, evacuation procedures, security personnel, venue management, and event staff.

Entrances, exits, walkways, emergency equipment, and restricted areas must remain unobstructed.

49 Medical Emergencies +

If event personnel reasonably believe that a guest requires urgent medical assistance, emergency services may be contacted.

The attendee remains responsible for medical expenses incurred unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Shine Dance Academy does not guarantee the presence of medical personnel at the event.

50 Personal Responsibility +

Guests are expected to exercise reasonable judgment, understand their physical limits, remain reasonably hydrated, supervise minors in their care, protect personal property, respect other attendees, and comply with event staff instructions.

51 Individual Event Experience +

Shine Dance Academy cannot guarantee that every attendee will enjoy every song, contest result, game, dance partner, DJ selection, costume, activity, or subjective aspect of the event.

Personal preference or ordinary dissatisfaction does not create a right to a refund.

52 Third-Party Services +

The event may involve third-party vendors, venues, photographers, DJs, food providers, payment processors, ticket systems, security personnel, or other service providers.

Those parties may maintain separate terms, privacy policies, and operational procedures.

✦
LEGAL FINAL PROVISIONS
✦
53 Limitation of Liability +

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shine Dance Academy’s liability relating to a ticket, merchandise purchase, or attendance at the event will be limited according to applicable Texas law and the circumstances involved.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

54 Responsibility for Misconduct +

To the extent permitted by law, an attendee or purchaser may be responsible for losses or claims arising from their own unlawful conduct, intentional misconduct, fraudulent activity, property damage, violation of these Terms, or infringement of Shine Dance Academy’s intellectual-property rights.

55 Texas Law +

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, except where another law is legally required to apply.

Subject to applicable law, disputes relating to the event or these Terms may be brought in an appropriate court located in Bexar County, Texas.

56 Severability +

If a provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

57 No Waiver +

Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not permanently waive Shine Dance Academy’s right to enforce that provision later.

Providing a courtesy exception to one customer does not require the same exception to be provided in every circumstance.

58 Changes to These Terms +

Shine Dance Academy may update these Terms when reasonably necessary.

Material changes affecting existing transactions will be addressed consistent with applicable law.

59 Entire Agreement +

These Terms, together with applicable checkout information, ticket descriptions, merchandise descriptions, event rules, and Shine Dance Academy’s Privacy Policy, form the terms applicable to the transaction and attendance.

If a specific written offer directly conflicts with a general provision here, the more specific written term relating to that purchase will control.

60 Acceptance +
BY COMPLETING A TICKET OR MERCHANDISE PURCHASE, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREED TO THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS.

By attending The Decades Dance Social, attendees also agree to follow applicable event rules, venue policies, safety instructions, and standards of conduct.
